Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library Concert Series

Donald Alfano, pianist
Join the Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library in the Ehlers Meeting Room for entertainment by Donald Alfano, pianist. Alfano, who maintains a piano studio in New Haven, has performed solo and chamber music recitals in the U.S. and in Europe. In addition, he is an educator, lecturer, and author. His program for this conert includes selections from Domenico Scarlatti, Edvard Grieg, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joaquin Nin-Culmell, Ernesto Lecuona and Robert Schumann. A reception will follow the concert.

Annual Book Sale
Saturday, June 28 - Wednesday July 2
The annual Book Sale of the Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library will take place June 28 - July 2, 2008 at Masuk High School on Route 111 in Monroe. The new location and new dates ensure a quality venue with air conditioning, ample parking, and plenty of space for browsing through the 25,000 items available at the sale.
Hours of the book sale are as follows: Saturday, June 28, 9 AM-10 AM: early bird admission $10.
Free admission Saturday–Tuesday, June 28 – July 1, 10 AM-6 PM; Wednesday, July 2, 10 AM-1 PM. Call (203) 452-2850 for more information or to volunteer.
Donations are still being accepted for the sale. Books may be brought to the new library during regular hours or placed anytime in the Friends’ donation shed behind the police station.
