Current Phase Details – Effective May 28th
The library is once again open for business in most respects. All chairs are back in place on the upper level and meeting rooms are available for public use upon request. The café is open. Computers are fully accessible in the Reference Room and limits on browsing and computer use have been eliminated. Because books and other materials are no longer being quarantined, our selection is once again robust.
Of course, according to the governor’s guidelines, masks are required for those who are not yet vaccinated. Also, because our younger children have not been vaccinated, the Children’s Department is the one area where restrictions are still in place. Masks are required at all times, seating is limited, and interactive toys are not yet available.
Starting on June 14th, we will be open for our full hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9-7; Thursday: 9-3; Friday, Saturday 9-2, and Sundays closed.
Most summer programming remains online because it was coordinated earlier in the year before we knew what the status of the pandemic would be. However, there will be some pop-up events taking place outdoors during the summer months. Please keep an eye on our calendar and our emails to stay informed of these programs.
We have discovered that people enjoy our patio books and also like the convenience of Library-to-Go, so those will continue as part of our regular services.
Due to temporary staffing limitations, classes in the makerspace will be coming a little later. Those who have already been certified on certain equipment may be allowed to schedule appointments. Please call the reference desk for further information.
Our staff looks forward to seeing you in the building again! Thank you for your patience with the few services that remain limited.
