The library's databases are great for homework help, or for exploring topics on your own.

Discovery Collection
Topics are divided into five main headings: Geography and Culture; History; Literature; People; Science and Health. Features include tips for conducting research and writing papers, a dictionary, and a Multimedia Gallery. In addition to original source material, there are also numerous biographies, essays, and plot summaries of important literary works.

Encyclopedia Britannica for Kids
Search either through Compton's Encyclopedia for middle school students, or the Elementary Encyclopedia for elementary students. There's a world atlas, dictionary, timelines, biographies, and much more. Search for video clips on your subject as well.

FactCite is a fully searchable online information resource brought to you by Lincoln Library Press. Included are The United States Encyclopedia of History, Library of Sports Champions, Library of Greek and Roman Mythology, Library of Shapers of Society, Library of Arts, Social Studies and Essential Information. Each library contains, biographies, maps, charts and illustrations. You must login with login:ewml/password:monroe.

Kids InfoBits meets the research needs of students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. It features full-text, curriculum-related magazine, newspaper and reference information on current events, the arts, science, health, people, government, history, sports and more.
