Who the Friends of the Library Are
The Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to benefit the Library. The Friends sponsors many activities, including an annual book sale and ongoing fundraising for the new Edith Wheeler Memorial Library. The Friends also provides supplemental funds to the Library for books, materials, and programs. The free museum pass program at the Library is sponsored by the Friends. The Friends has an elected Board of Directors and holds periodic meetings to plan activities.
All meetings are held on Tuesdays in the library’s Rotary Room at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Membership in the Friends entitles you to receive our free newsletter with detailed information about Friends activities and Library happenings. You are also invited to attend our monthly meetings and vote on important decisions that affect the Library.
Individuals — $15
Seniors — $10
Family — $25
Contributor — $50 – $99/Free book bag!
Benefactor — $100 or more/Wheeler pin
Non-Monroe Resident — $30

The Friends of The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library are always looking for volunteers to help with fundraising and the booksale. If you are interested in volunteering, leave your name and phone number with a library staff member at the front desk, and a member of the Friends will contact you.
