Downloadable E-Books & Audiobooks


The library's OverDrive service provides downloadable eBooks and audiobooks for a wealth of devices including Kindle, iPad, Nook, Nexus, Surface, Sony Reader, and more. The process of downloading varies depending upon the device. See your librarian or link to OverDrive's Digital Help page to get assistance in downloading the appropriate platform or app to begin the process.

NEW - eReaders Available for Circulation
The Library now has a Kindle Touch, a Kindle Fire, an iPad, and a Nook eBook reader available for patrons to borrow. Borrowers must be 18 years old and a Monroe resident, library staff member, or member of Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library. Monroe and out-of-town residents can also use the eReaders in the library for one hour a day if they are available. eReaders are available at the Reference Desk on a first come, first serve basis and can be borrowed for a 21 day loan period with no renewals. eReaders must be returned in person to the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library Adult Reference desk. Gale Virtual Reference Library
