The Library offers access to downloadable audiobooks. Use your library card to browse and search hundreds of great titles and download them to your computer, transfer them to a portable device, or burn onto a CD for your listening pleasure anywhere, anytime.

You may check out up to five downloadable audiobooks at a time. The loan period is 7 days. At the end of the loan period, the item is automatically "returned," and you will no longer be able to access the files on your computer. Items cannot be "returned" early.

OverDrive Audio Books has WMA and MP3 Audiobook titles in its Downloadable Media collection. OverDrive WMA Audiobook titles can be transferred to MP3 players and many OverDrive WMA Audiobook titles can be transferred to Windows formatted Apple devices. The OverDrive MP3 Audiobook offers iPod, iPhone and iPod Touch support.

NEW - you can now download OverDrive titles directly to the Windows mobile phones and the Android.( iPhone and Blackberry capability coming later this year.)

NEW - Audio Books from iCONN, Connecticut's digital library

The Connecticut State Library also now offers downloadable audio books to public libraries through iCONN. This collection includes over 1300 titles from Ingram Digital Goup which can be downloaded to PCs or Macs using their free plugin called Ingram Media Manager. From your computer, you can then transfer titles to iPods and certain MP3 players for up to 14 days. Connect to Audio Books at iCONN to search for titles or for more information.
